Junior Handbook & Coaching Program

TCC Junior Handbook

The Templeton Cricket Club Junior Committee has prepared this handbook, to give players and parents information for the upcoming cricket season.  Parents and players should be aware of the general contents of this handbook, and in particular the conduct required of all Templeton Cricket Club.

TCC Junior Coaching Program

As part of our objective to improve the capabilities of our junior players, the Club has developed a new coaching program. The TCC Junior Skills Development Program identifies key competencies (batting, bowling, fielding and game sense) that are considered to be important in the development of our junior players. The main objectives of the program are to:

1.  Assist players to realise their playing potential; and
2.  Equip players to be able to transition through the junior age groups and ultimately to senior cricket.

There are 4 levels of the program, with the goals becoming more advanced as player’s progress (see attached).  The levels do not correlate to a particular age group (i.e. U10s, U12s etc.) and players will be coached to progress at their own pace. Players will be assessed early and at the end of the season, with awards handed out at the Junior Presentation night recognising completion of a level.
